Kibutz Ein Dor was founded in May 1948 by members of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. It was the first jewish settlement to be founded after the Israeli declaration of independence. Among the founders were young Zionists from Hungary, Canada, the United States and South Africa.
Today Kibutz Ein Dor is home to about 1000 inhabitants. It's also home to a Cable factory, an archeology museum and other small businesses.
The cache is located outside if the Kibutz gate, which isn't always open, in the entererence to a small wooded area planted by the Kibutz's kids for Tu Bishvat.
