El entorno de la Fonte da Santiña es mágico debido a que hace años existían una serie de construcciones (la mayor parte de ellas actualmente desaparecidas) que dejaron un espacio baldío y que solo permanece en la memoria de las personas mayores.
La sensación es semejante a las aldeas, parroquias o villas anegadas por una presa. En este lugar el abandono del antiguo camino medieval (con la construción de la N-550) y el paso de la autopista modificaron totalmente el entorno, pero aún se nota esa magia que emana de las tradiciones seculares desaparecidas.
Antes de su destrucción y traslado, en el lugar del iglesario se encontraba la iglesia parroquial de Santa María de Deixebre, rodeada por el adro y el cementerio. Un poco más alejado se encuentra un crucero, que fue víctima de abandono y la destrucción, así como la pía original de la fuente que desapareció.
De la Fonte da Santiña sale un camino en dirección al iglesario. A la izquierda queda el lugar que ocupa la iglesia y a la derecha la rectoral, morada del cura (actualmente vivienda particular), que conserva un hermoso reloj en la esquina que mira al sur.
Y para completar este entorno tan alterado, los más viejos del lugar aún cuentan que existió una pequeña capilla cerca de la fuente. En ella está la figura de la Santiña y los caminantes o los peregrinos podían dejar limosna.

The surroundings of the Fonte da Santiña is magical because years ago there were a series of constructions (most of them currently disappeared) that left a vacant space and that only remain in the memory of the elderly.
The sensation is similar to the villages, parishes or towns flooded by a dam. In this place the abandonment of the old medieval road (with the construction of the N-550) and the passage of the highway totally modified the environment, but you can still see that magic that emanates from the disappeared secular traditions.
Before its destruction and transfer, in the place of the church was the parish church of Santa María de Deixebre, surrounded by the adro and the cemetery. A little further away is a cruise ship, which was the victim of neglect and destruction, as well as the original pia of the fountain that disappeared.
A path leads from the Fonte da Santiña in the direction of the church. On the left is the place occupied by the church and on the right the rectory, the priest's residence (currently a private home), which preserves a beautiful clock in the corner that faces south.
And to complete this environment so altered, the oldest of the place still say that there was a small chapel near the source. In it is the figure of Santiña and walkers or pilgrims could leave alms.
