The Susquehanna State Park at Arch Street in the Newberry section of Williamsport was originally acquired for flood control. Now is used for boat launching, paddle boat rides, picnicking, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Pictured below is the beach area that was created in the mid-sixties My cousin and I spent many days on this beach in our early teens. The beach remained until the water was deemed unsafe for swimming.
There was a cache located near the parking lot for the Hiawatha Paddleboat but it was muggled too many times and was removed.
I’m placing this cache in a very different area not exposed to as much traffic. Something is living in the ground near the cache, therefore the name.
The park is open from 8 AM till Sunset every day. Cache is small, be sure to bring your own pen.
