Speedmistress: It is with great regret that I archive this cache. Someone has realigned the fence and taken the beautiful tree that the cache was inhabiting away. Just some old roots left poking out of the ground. Do these people not have any respect for the inhabitants that rely on trees for protection. LOL

Maida Hill School 1878-1914 at  N26 56.479 W028 36.136

The building was a Lowset Timber Construction originally.

In March 1877, Messrs D A Cameron (T), S. Hawkes, G Hunt, D mCDougall and F McKeaon (S) formed the building committee and Jackey's waterhole was the nominated site. 

The childred listed on the application were Albert, George, Henry, John and Lilly Ensor, Andres, Archibald and Margaret Fletcher, Helen, Adam and Mary Anne Hampton, John and Samuuel Hawke, Elizabeth, George and Hane Hunt, Bridger, Elizabeth and Mary Hunter, John, Mary Ann and Patrick Lane, Louise McDougal, John and T F Leo, Mary and Robert KcKeon, Hugh, James, Luke, Mary and Michael O'Brien, Mary and Rachel Saunders, Agnes, Hugh, John and Mary Sweeney and Emily Symes. 

The enrolment was 63 children 1879.
