Building committee of Messrs NR Campbell, J McClelland, W A McClelland, A F Robertson and G R Walker were elected at the second gathering of interested parties.
The school was build on the Crown Reserve of about eleven acres.
The children enrolled for the first day were Lillie and Ida Campbell, William and Winnie Lynagh, Ellen Lynagh, Annie, Mary and John McClelland, Alex, Andres, Lizzie, Violet and Willie McClelland, Bertie Mulqueeney and Fanny Ross. Three other children also attended in 1893 were Ellen Fletcher, Thomas McClelland and John Watts.
