The cache is located next to an ancient medieval canal. From what we can find online, this canal was used to flood the salt lake, then evaporation would allow the salt to be harvested. There is also mention of the canal being used to bring small boats into the salt lake. It is said to date from the Venetian rule of Cyprus. If you go east of the cache site (and over the dunes!) on the beach you can find the brick remains of the entrance of the canal.
Sadly not much of the canal itself remains but this area is preserved and you can imagine the canal as it once was.
Lady's mile is a high muggle area, especially in summer, although we think this area is a little quieter. Please take care to replace the cache as hidden, and as ever watch out for snakes and other nasties, and take water. Parking available nearby on the track which is passable in a saloon car if you take it slowly.
