This small but important school was a timber construction with verandah on the front.
The building committee elected in 1910 was A C Harbord, J Johnston, J Johnston Jnr (S), Hi Knight (t), J Matthews, M McKinlay (C) and C Rowland. Mr S A Bradley surrendered five acres for school purposes.
The children enrolled on the first day were Edward Henry, George and Herb James Knight, Amy Amelia and Enos Edward Matthews, William McKinlay, Chas Vylett, Stephen Henry and Thomas Richmond Rowland, Harry Francis Chas and William Pierre Watson. By the end of the year there was an enrolment of 28.
Two Bottle trees were planted each side of the front gate when the school was opened. One of these Bottle Trees still stands majestically on site.
