Geocache Description:

This cache IS at the posted coordinates. The cache is a regular-size square clear lock and lock.

This is a challenge cache, the purpose of which is to encourage geocachers to go find those early Monmouth County TRADITIONAL geocaches (only the basic Traditional icon) that are still active. To log this cache as found you must complete the challenge described below.

The cache itself is hidden about 20 feet off-trail. A trail map is available here. Please re-hide and re-cover as found. Thanks all!

The requirements for completing this challenge:

1) Find 15 TRADITIONAL geocaches which were published before (and can include) the 20th-oldest active TRADITIONAL geocache in Monmouth County, NJ. This may include archived caches.

2) Use the Project-GC Challenge Checker to verify that you qualify for this challenge.

A few notes:

1) If any of the geocaches are owned by you, you may claim them on your list.

2) If any cache on the list is archived, then the next oldest active cache will be included. Once a cache is archived, a new 20th-oldest active cache will be recognized by the Challenge Checker. Any archived caches will still be allowed on your list of 15 caches to qualify.

3) The challenge checker includes archived cache finds in your list, even caches which were archived before the publication of this challenge.

4) A successful run of the Challenge Checker serves as your proof of qualification. The checker will provide a formatted list should you wish to copy/paste one into your log, however this is not required.

5) The posted coordinates will be used to determine whether a cache is in one county or another.

6) If you have not yet completed this challenge, you may still find the geocache and sign the log, but you may not log it as a find until you have successfully completed the challenge. Any found-it logs submitted without completing the challenge will be deleted.

7) Yes, I fully understand that cachers who have been in the game longer have a distinct advantage with this challenge. That is the way the ball bounces. For that reason, and as a reward, I have rated the challenge based on the difficulty of the current list. Also, I have made sure that I qualify with this same list, to show all cachers that this challenge can be completed, whenever you started caching.

Much thanks to TheGeneral1776 for the basic idea, to riverrock19 for first bringing the idea to my area (and my attention), and to donut the cat for the non-traditional spin on it (and to each of them for "lending" me most of their wording for the challenge write up), AND for the many, many cool historical caches they have asked me to find lately.
