This park holds a lot of childhood memories for me, especially the North Providence annual Fourth of July fireworks show! Beautiful views, but lots of muggles - so be sure to use stealth! It’s a small container in what should be an obvious spot. Bring your own pen and please re-hide the cache exactly as you found it.
Parking: There is a small parking lot next to GZ. (If that’s full, there’s a larger parking lot towards the back via Gov. Notte Park Way off Douglas Ave.)
*The park and parking lot close at dusk. The cache can still be accessed from outside the park/parking lot*
Just wanted to bring others to this park who might not have known about it before. Have fun!
“John A. Notte, Jr. was a resident of North Providence who became Governor of the State of Rhode Island. The site became Wenscott Reservoir which was created to provide water for future mills downstream (1835). Today, the park has full recreational facilities including a freshwater beach, paddle boat rentals, ample parking, tennis courts, ball field, swings for children, picnic sites and a peaceful waterfall which adds to the rustic, serene setting that makes you forget you are minutes away from the busiest streets in North Providence!” (link)
**Congratulations to SelfRescuingPrincess for FTF!
