We placed this 2 1/2 gal white plastic geo-pail overlooking High Falls on the York River in the southern section of Algonquin Park on a well marked 20 - 40 min trail.
Parking is available at N 45d 11.699, W 78d 08.940 for a fee or on the roadside for free where Elephant Lake Road becomes the Peterson Road.
We were planning on walking this wonderful trail to celebrate our 34th anniversary and decided it would also be a great site to celebrate our 1st year of caching with a new cache.
We gathered to-gether our loot including: mini crib board, deck of playing cards, Canada stickers, flashlight, ear protectors, foot warmers, 3 coffee mugs, a Barney the TTC safety beaver pin and 2 fresh AA batteries in case your's run out. We put all into my empty bird seed pail and headed UP the trail.
The 2+km (x2) trail starts out as a very easy path but soon becomes more difficult with roots and boulders and deep crevices. The brochure, available at Wilberforce groceries for free, advises STAYING ON THE TRAIL and CLOSELY SUPERVISING CHILDREN.
