Geocache Description:

THIS GEOCACHE IS NOT AT ITS POSTED COORDINATES:

SOLVE THIS MEDICAL MYSTERY FIRST:

Don, aka Doc Abrams, was an incredible, soft-spoken family physician in the Prior Lake/Shakopee region for many decades. While his favorite nonmedical pastime was probably bridge, he would have enjoyed any head-scratching mental challenge. This puzzle challenge is in honor of Don.

A patient came into Don's office one day and said, "Doc, I don't know what's wrong with me. I was up on a ladder cleaning my gutters this morning when the wind kicked up and threw me off the ladder. I think I hit my head".

Doc Abrams was very thorough in examining this poor man. He examined his face and head first, mostly because the guy just didn't look right to him. Here were his findings:

  1. He couldn't move the superior oblique muscle on the left
  2. The left pupil was dilated compared to the right
  3. he couldn't read the Snellen chart with the left eye
  4. He couldn't move the superior oblique muscle on the right
  5. He couldn't read the Snellen chart with the right eye
  6. He had tunnel vision in both eyes
  7. His left cheekbone area was numb to the touch
  8. He had damage to the only nerve to the eye exiting the dorsum of the brainstem
  9. He had no sense of taste at the root of his tongue
  10. The right side of his face was droopy

After the exam, Doc Abrams sat back and thought a minute about his findings.  Then he got up and began to leave.

"Wait, Doc!. What's wrong with me? Am I going to live?" the patient exclaimed.

Doc turned and spoke. "Yes, I think you'll live. I am late for a concert, though. The Prior Lake Windjammers are playing tonight. Get dressed and meet me there; I'll give you my expert advice after the concert. I'll save you a spot."

What is wrong with Doc Abram's patient?
