Geocache Description:


Bradshaws Grocery Store

65 Railway Street, Norton on Derwent, East Riding

 

At start of business, Mr Bradshaws has a total of one pound in the till. During the course of the day, Mary gives the Shop Keeper five half crown coins to pay for her grocery account and is given 2 florins in change.

Arthur wins two guineas at the races. He gives all his money to the shop keeper to pay for goods of fine port and cheese worth 34/-, pocketing his change.

The shop keeper pays John the paper boy six shillings and thruppence from the till.

Nancy pays 14/- for her paper bill of 12/- and is given the appropriate change.

Molly and Arnold buy sweets with sixpence from their pocket money and are given a halfpenny as change.

Mr Bradshaws, the shop keeper, takes 5/10 out of the till to pay for the Grocers Corporation Mystery Steam Excursion.

Burt gives 18d to the shop keeper for an account; 7d and two farthings go into the till while the rest is given back as change, since the charge was overestimated.
