Traveling through Stark NH, I was intrigued by a statue of General John Stark. Where else should it be, but Stark NH, renamed after the Revolution to commemorate New Hampshire's native son, Gen. John Stark of Londonderry? You shouldn't see any statues to Percy, Duke of Northumberland, should you? Yup, the town used to be called Percy. This may be a clue why the town of Northumberland is down the road.
But there is something starkly similar about this statue, Actually it is looks almost exactly like the one in Bennington, Vermont, (pictured) commemorating Stark's contribution at the Battle of Bennington. It was donated to the town of Stark by John Threlfall, who also donated the one at Bennington.
As a displaced Benningtonian, and the owner of two WIH caches for Molly Stark, in VT and NH, I had a great urge to create a MIH cache for Molly's husband. This will do.
The cache is a micro within sight of the statue. Please replace hide as found.
Congratulations to snowsunflowers and Theater Tweety for Co-FTF!
