Granville Loop Park, Tennis Courts and Playground
Here you will find all that you need to while the afternoon away: tennis, water feature, bus loop, water fountain and... wait! There are no restrooms. Oops. Maybe you won't make it the whole afternoon after all. Oh well. The best feature of the playground in this park has to be the miniature Jeep: perfect for reenacting that scene from Jurassic Park. Fully shaded and located on a hill, this playground is best accessible by bus as free parking around the area is a little hard to come by. I’m not gonna lie, the wooden slats on the play structure feel really old, especially standing on them as an adult. The window panel has seen better days as well because it’s fully opaque. There’s some open lawn space with hills and dips that can be fun for little kids. There’s also an open fountain on the south side that someone on the internet nicknamed “Stargate” for fun.
SPECIAL NOTES
- Nearby, there's an underground pathway that goes under the Granville St bridge and one can loop back around to return to the park.
- Bus lovers can watch buses stop for a rest on the south side of the park.
- The open water feature nearby can be a bit dangerous for smaller ones.
- W 4th Ave is on the north side of the park and is quite busy. Please make sure kids don't run off down the hill past the fence there.
