The James ‘Jimmy’ Ellis Bridge spans the Connswater River and is the latest addition to an urban ‘greenway’ hoped to lift the spirits of locals as well as cyclists, walkers, runners and anyone else now able to stroll from C S Lewis Square to Mersey Street Bridge and beyond to Victoria Park.

The bridge, erected close to where Jimmy grew up, was opened on the third anniversary of his death. The structure sits close to the Sam Thompson Bridge in nearby Victoria Park which was named after the playwright and long time friend of Jimmy’s.

The programme tells the story of the two men’s battle to stage their play Over The Bridge in the face of an establishment that saw them as trouble makers. The play told the story of sectarianism at the shipyard and the pair faced an struggle to get it staged in the face of censorship attempts.

You will not need to cross the bridge or climb any fences to reach the cache itself. .

The cache location is always busy so extreme stealth is required  Please place the cache container back excatly where you found it as this makes it hard to the casual observer to locate the cache.
