Geocache Description:

Named after the fictional place in the novel, Lost Horizon, Shangri La Botanical Gardens & Nature Center is a very real (and free!) 250+ acre botanical garden and nature center in Orange, Texas. There are more than 300 plant species, a bird blind, multiple water features and habitats.

The first project in Texas and the 50th project in the world to earn the U.S. Green Building Council’s Platinum LEED certification for green standards, it is one of the most eco-friendly designs in the world, offering a glimpse of how people can live harmoniously with the environment.

Note: Should be a quick grab from the sidewalk -- please don't go traipsing through the flowerbeds.
