昭和41年（1966）に太刀洗駅の南側に壮大な工場が操業を開始。その工場への原料と製品の輸送を目的にこの引込線はつくられ、昭和59年（1984）まで使われていました。

廃止になった理由として、他の引込線と同様にトラック輸送への順次切り替えられました。

現在は、太陽光発電パネルの立地として、有効活用されています。
