This is a cache in a series which provides a circular walk to/from Ickwell Green using council-registered permissive paths as well as a public bridleway and road/tracks. There is a small amount of road walking but on a very straight section. The circuit overlaps for a short stretch with another of our series: The Three Greens Walk.
This particular cache is where a gateway once existed to take people towards Ickwell Bury. The gateway infrastructure is still mainly in place but it has been many years since it was used as such. Nowadays the permissive path exists to enable pedestrians and horses to keep off the road and avoid traffic on the tight corner near Ickwell.
