UK Mega 2021: Lincolnshire
Impish Behaviour: A Cathedral Flashmob

Where: Outside the West Front of Lincoln Cathedral
When: 11am to 11:30 am.
Why: To start our Lincolnshire Day, which continues later with our CITO on the West Common and our Lincolnshire Night at the Showground
Where can I park? There are a number of pay and display car parks in the area (see Waypoints) and if you're lucky you might even find a roadside slot. Watch out for residents-only bays though, and the green-capped parking vultures!
What Happens at a Flashmob? A Flashmob is a surprise public event where particpants engage in a fun activity, such as a dance, song or other activity. Here's what's happening at ours:
| 11am |
A warm (and loud!) welcome from the City of Lincoln Town Crier, Karen Crow
|
| 11.05am |
A welcome to the Cathedral by The Rev'd Canon Paul Noble on behalf of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln Cathedral
|
| 11.10am |
Flashmob activity: at the whistle, everyone present is to do their best impression of the Cathedral's famous Lincoln Imp (see below). This is a world record attempt!!! (On the second whistle you can stop!)
|
| 11.15am |
Social time! Meet other cachers, take selfies, exchange stories, make friends, stroke dogs etc.
|
| 11:30am |
Event ends
|
We are delighted to announce that we have negotiated a mega-discount for entry to the Cathedral on the day of this event (6/8/21). Any adults wearing a Lincs Mega wristband can enter for the reduced price of £5 (usually £9) and under-16s go free! (usually £4.50). Just show your wristband to the reception desk when you enter by the west door. While you're inside, see if you can spot the imp!

The one legged pose of the Lincoln Imp- get practicing!
