Geocache Description:

It's all in the approach you take. Too often our minds are jumping three steps ahead of what our bodies are actually doing. Sitting on the stairs to tie up bootlaces, but the mind is already outside in the car and waiting impatiently. Starting up the stairs to get a forgotton water bottle, but the mind has already been there, grabbed it, and come back down ready to leave. Navigating a gloriously wild approach route, but the mind has already signed the log (FTF, no less!) and is busy thinking about which cache to tackle next.

By such inattention, the whole pleasure of the journey is missed.

Sure, by finding this cache, a number on a website will increase by one. But that's missing the bigger point. Go slower. It is better to be wholly engaged in the journey to a single find, than to rack up 3 or 4 website points but miss out on the lived experience.

There are at least four different approaches to this site, and they each have their unique charms in the different seasons. All are doable in all seasons. But Spring from along the abandoned tracks has all the lush new growth and the sound of squelching mud. Summer through the gravel plain is filled with the scent of wildflowers and the hopping sound of all those grasshoppers. Fall up from the woods with the colour of the maples and sumacs, and the smell of dried leaves. Winter from the now accessible western ridge line with the isolation and silence, and the unique taste of the air.

None of the approaches require climbing any fences if you are inventive enough with your wayfinding. But some have significant slopes or undergrowth to navigate. Are you in the mood for a physical challenge? Or just a gentle stroll in the wilds?

Just a basic container with log (BYOP). Room for tradeables too. Finding it is no big deal. But getting there, and noticing everything along the route - ah, that's a very big deal. Approach GZ from the eastern side, as the western side has some inconsiderate doggie bags among the weeds (what is wrong with some people?). When at GZ it shouldn't be too hard to find. Trust your geosenses. No TOTT required unless a previous finder replaced it too vigorously.
