I really like flags, and also dream of visiting Norway in the future.
Norway is located in northern Europe, part of the Nordic countries and Scandinavia.
Norway has an elongated shape and an extensive coastline along the Atlantic Ocean that includes its famous fjords. It borders Sweden, Russia and Finland. The state is divided into 18 districts. The capital of the country is Oslo, with a population of 1.5 million.
The Norwegian flag is one of the Nordic cross flag, Nordic cross, or Scandinavian cross is a pattern for the flag, usually of one of the Scandinavian countries from where it came from. All the Nordic countries have adopted a flag in this format. The first flag with the design was the flag of Denmark, after which it was adopted by Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and some of their provinces adopted it as inspiration for their flag. The Norwegian flag was the first Nordic cross flag with three colors. Although the flags share the same shape, each has a different history and symbolism.
Frederick Meltzer, the father of the country's flag, felt that the flag should include a Christian cross in it, like the other flags of the Scandinavian countries (Sweden and Denmark). Many democracies such as the United States, the Netherlands, and France used the colors red, white, and blue, and therefore, as part of a waiter's desire to symbolize Norway's freedom of choice, used these colors in the flag. Meltzer built his design based on the Danish flag, which was also the Norwegian flag until 1814. The blue cross is a reference to the blue color of the Swedish flag.
