Welcome to the Washtenaw County Parks 2021 Geocaching Adventure! This year, eight geocaches (and one challenge cache!) await you on our properties. Your mission is to find them, note the code words listed inside each cache, and, once you have found all eight, submit your complete list of caches and related code words to parks@washtenaw.org. Geocachers who complete our adventure will receive a special collectible. The FTF for the entire series receives a special prize. Let the adventure begin!
Baker Woods Preserve has a mixture of upland woods and open meadows. It is a 70-acre property with 1.1 miles of trail. Some of the oak trees on the property have likely been growing since the early 1800s. Another attractive site feature is Mill Creek, which traverses the property from north to south. The creek banks are in good condition and the creek itself is well shaded by adjacent vegetation. Ticks are common in this area.
It is also home to the Chelsea District Library's Storybook Trail. The Storybook Trail displays a children's book along a nature trail, allowing for an interesting experience for hiking and reading outdoors. The Storybook trail is updated seasonally and is recommended for kids of all ages. As with most WCPARC preserves, no dogs are allowed on the property. Please ensure that the cache is properly camouflaged when you replace it.
