Stop for this cache off of highway 80 on your way up the mountain! This cache is an easy find located near a local business.
The building near the cache was bought by Charlie McMahan in 1970 and named after his wife, Dottie, who he promised to one day put her name in lights. The same yellow sign you might see has been hanging in the same spot for all these years, and it was only until 2003, that the lights stopped working. The same day Charlie McMahan died.This sign is a staple to McDowell County which is why we thought it is perfect for there to be a geocache nearby!
