Geocache Description:

This geocache is placed on a public footpath that goes through one part of Pentraeth Forest. The main vehicle access tracks through the forest are gravel and the footpaths are forest floor. Be aware that the footpaths can be muddy after it has rained.

The waypointed parking is quite a long way from the cache, about a 3.2km walk. There is a steep hill up from the carpark to the main forest. The tracks are quite uneven under foot. Alternatively, there is plenty of space to find parking in the small hamlet of Wern Y Wylan. This gives a much shorter walk to the cache up a slightly less steep hill than the one at the other parking.

The cache is a cylindrical plastic container. It has a screw lid. When placed it contained log paper and a small pencil. Please leave all of these in the cache. The log paper has a red tab on it, pull this to help you get the log paper out.

*It seems this cache is prone to getting wet so if you find it wet please let me know. If you are unable to sign the log I will add your name to it once it has been dried out. Thank you.*

Pentraeth Forest

Pentraeth Forest is a managed forest which is maintained by Natural Resoucres Wales. Areas have recently been felled for wood, however these will be replanted with more trees which will grow for use as wood in the future. There is the chance of seeing plenty of wildlfe, including red squirrels, whilst walking around the forest.

There are many walks around this beautiful forest. On clear days there are good views of the mountains and out over the Irish Sea.
