Geocache Description:

This geocache is hidden near a Telluride landmark and easy to find by foot, especially if you’re exploring Telluride Main Street.

Discover Telluride History! In 1931, the railroad introduced the Galloping Goose to carry passengers, mail, and supplies across the San Juans along the Rio Grande Southern Railroad. Tucked in this “Galloping Goose” cache are fun historic photos as well as background and stories of the town’s iconic courthouse and the Galloping Goose. For more information on Telluride’s railroads and early transportation, come check out the Telluride Historical Museum.

There is usually plenty of 2hr street parking nearby. Look for a green ammo box.

This cache was created by the Telluride Historical Museum. We’ve hidden several historic caches throughout the area—be sure to find them all!
