General George Washington was a patriot of the American Revolution that led the colonies to victory over the British. As a man Washington preferred a quiet life as a gentleman farmer, but fate would place this humble man in charge of the revolutionary forces. Washington was not known as much for victories as much for his leadership, motivation, and inspiration to hold together different forces through the conflict.
