Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Usher Gallery. Nestled within the Temple Gardens. It's home to paintings from Lowry and Turner, and was established in Lincoln in 1927 by James Ward Usher (a jewellery maker) to house his Collection of art and antiques he had gathered over his lifetime. He died in 1921 leaving considerable funds to build the gallery. As he had never married he requested the gallery bear his name. It was opened on 25th May 1927 by the Prince of Wales. Now Grade 2 listed. There are sections of Roman wall in the northern section of the temple gardens which are worth looking at-which is where this cache is closely located.

Well worth a visit.

A lovely place to sit and enjoy your surroundings.
