LLL: RAF Spilsby Memorial
This cache is located near the old RAF Spilsby Operations Block. As you drive towards the cache from LLL: RAF Spilsby Memorial Cache, the chimney is just visible on your left standing up through the foliage, nature is slowly reclaiming the building or if you are stood at the cache and follow the line of the road sign it points directly at the building.
Information
There is not much information online regarding the operations block, however, we have managed to find a couple of interesting facts about it.
- the ventilation ducting is still in place
- the concrete over the main Ops block building was supposed to be a single slab. However, insufficient concrete was delivered when it was being laid, it is in fact 2 slabs!
