The Series
Do you love mystery caches? Do you love D/T (Difficulty/Terrain) ratings? if so, we have a GREAT series for you!!!
The Jackson County Agritourism Geo-Trail 81 series (JCAT-81) has been placed for YOU! We do have to fess up that the series isn’t actually in Jackson County, but it’s a stone’s throw away and an awesome set of caches. If you complete all 81, you will have completed an entire D/T grid. Total fizzy awesomeness!
The majority of the caches are hidden in Sandy Creek Park. There is an entrance fee of $2 per person to enter. Current park hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, closed on Mondays. (Note: Hours can change-- please check with the park before making your trip plans)
The caches are hidden in a variety of containers and styles. The puzzles will help build your puzzle-solving skills. Be on the lookout for some JCAT-81 Puzzle-Solving events where we will help you solve some of the tougher ones.
This series is a collaborative effort of “The Puzzle Posse”! The Puzzle Posse consists of Bragger407, GeoMonkeyTiger!, LaFavorite Cacher, and poeanne.
The Cache
This cache is rated a 4.5/1.5. You are looking for a micro container with very little room for SWAG, trackables, or a pen. This is one of the few finds that is NOT in Sandy Creek Park and is available 24/7. Please use extra caution if hunting after dark.

For the occasion of his lovely bride’s birthday, Farmer MacDonald had several surprises planned. He threw a surprise party and invited all of their friends. Their friends came from all over the world!
When the party was over, the guests left the farm. A short while later, they got a call from one of their friends, Adam Lloyd.
Adam: Farmer MacDonald! Thank goodness you answered!! We’ve found something amazing!
Farmer MacDonald (FM): Really?!?! What did you find?
Adam: I found a really cool geocache!
FM: That is amazing! Where is it?
Adam: Well, that’s the thing. If I were back home in Eastchurch, UK, I could tell you. But my rental car came with the strangest GPS. It only shows a bearing. It doesn’t show a distance. And the bearing looks very strange.
FM: What does it say?
Adam: Well, I can still see your farm from here and it shows the bearing to your farm as 4.76475r. I don’t understand that number at all.
FM: That is very strange. And how far away are you?
Adam: Like I said, this GPS doesn’t show distance. But I can see your sheep and there is something really quite interesting. From where I’m standing (right at the geocache), the sheep look perfectly picturesque. But, if I take even one step towards them, they no longer look picturesque. I know that isn’t helpful, but…
FM: Actually, I think I’ve got it! I can figure this out. I’m at N 34 03.064 W 083 24.890 and with the info you’ve given me, I can figure out where you are! I’ll be there in a jiffy to check out this amazing geocache!
So, can YOU figure out where the geocache is?
