In 2014 I created a puzzle cache in Richmond (GC55T1H) that required you to guess a number between 1 and 999999999. Guess right and you are given the coordinates and a hint; guess wrong and you are told if you are too high or too low. If you make 31 wrong guesses then you have to start again, with a different random number to guess.
I thought it was about time to create something similar in Christchurch. This cache operates a bit differently to GC55T1H:
- You have to guess a random four letter "word". The "word" is a sequence of four letters chosen at random, so is unlikely to be a valid word in English, or any other language (though it could be).
- Your guess can be shorter than four letters. Your guess will be wrong, but it will help narrow down the right answer.
- You will see the results of your last five guesses.
- You have 15 minutes (900 seconds) from making your first guess to get the right answer.
- You are allowed 60 guesses.
If you run out of time or guesses, you will have to start again with a new random word. To start guessing, Click here. Good luck!
