This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

The former Ebenezer Chapel is of historical significance as the first purpose-built Baptist church in South Australia. Built and opened in 1843, the simple brick building could seat 130. They had strong religious convictions and the habit of regular worship. They were Baptists of the free English tradition, without the taint of fundamentalism. Services ceased in 1870. From 1884 the building was used as Industrial School for the Blind, changing its name in 1903 to the Royal Institution for the Blind. In the 1930s the building was converted into a dwelling.
