St Helen, Gate Burton

ST HELEN, GATE BURTON

St Helen, Gate Burton is a Grade II listed building, achieving the status on 16 December 1964.

The church was totally rebuilt in 1866. The building is made up of west tower, nave and a rectangular chancel with north vestry.

Everything in the church is from the 1866 rebuild except the C12th drum font with beaded arcading containing large flower heads and human heads.

There are several brass plaques to the Hutton family inside the church who had the seat at Gate Burton Hall and who also paid for the church rebuild.
