Geocache Description:

Ready for a little hiking?  Well here's your chance to get out in the woods for a while.  This is part of a series of 5 caches that take you through some easy and some tough terrain.  You will encounter everything from open woods to piles of fallen trees.  You will probably have to cross at least 1 small stream, which isn't wide, but the banks are kind of steep in places.  Depending on recent weather you may find some muddy conditions, or snow in the winter.  Then you have your assorted run-ins with a variety of bugs, thorns, poison ivy and wildlife.  If you're lucky you might even see a bear (or unlucky depending on how you look at it).

This is not a "power" series of caches.  You will have to work for each one of them.  You will start off with a little puzzle at the begining to determine the final coordinates.  Then you will have to make your way through all of the possible obstacles to get to the cache site.  Once at the cache site you will be looking for container sizes that should be in the woods, not micros or smalls.  However, just because they are larger containers does not mean that the hides are easy.  Most of them are in areas where there are plenty of choices of hiding spots, so you will have to use your skills to make the finds.

This cache is in the gamelands.  WEAR ORANGE DURING HUNTING SEASONS, and avoid this cache during deer seasons.

If you can't find the cache, post a DNF.  DO NOT DROP ANY CONTAINERS!!

It's a challenging series, but it is very satisfying when you find one.  Good luck.

Now that you have some idea what you might be facing, and if you're ready for the challenge, let's get started with this one.

Near the posted coordinates you will find a signpost which is configured similar to the one below.

You will need to answer some questions based on the signs on the signpost.  You will only use the 3 signs going down the center.  The 2 outer signs will not be used for this cache.

OK, here we go:

The final coordinates are at N 42 00.ABC W 079 55.DEF

The total checksum for NORTH is 18, and the total checksum for the WEST is 37

For these coordinates you will have to look at the sign at the very bottom of the signs on the post.

A:  In the bottom right corner of that sign there is a phone number.  A is the last digit of the phone number.

B:  There are 2 possible reasons listed for calling a doctor.  B is the number of letters in the second reason.

C:  On the bottom left corner of the sign there is a word that begins with the letter Z.  C is the number of letters in this word.

D:  Go back to the phone number you used for "A".  D is the next to last digit of that phone number.

E:  There are 4 bullet items on this sign.  E is the number of words in the first bullet item.

F:  Look at all 4 bullet items.  F is the number of letters in the longest word in the list.

Now, check your answers with the checksums for a quick check.  If you get the right answers you are ready to find the cache.  Here is a little information about the hide.

The container is a 30 cal. metal ammo can.  It is hidden in an ordinary fashion, but with a fairly small geo-pile.  It will not be as obvious as some.  There are a lot of fallen trees in the area.  The tree that you are looking for is not one of the newer ones.  After you sign the log MAKE SURE THAT THE CACHE IS WELL HIDDEN!!

GO GET IT !!!
