First a little history, then on to the fun stuff.
Your first stop, a grave site located just twenty feet from the highway. The marker is only three feet off the highway, and was placed here by the Canyon County Historical Society in 1984.
Walter G. Perry is the name on the marker. He was killed by Indians over a century and a half ago.
I have a magnetic attraction for history like this, so, that is the theme for the actual cache. MAGNETS.
There are three dates on the marker. This is where you will find the missing numbers you will need to complete the following coordinates for the second cache.
N 43° 4?.230
W 116° 3?.?61
For the missing number on the latitude you need to use the third number, that’s on the marker, for Walter G. Perry’s birth year.
For the missing numbers on the longitude, use the third number of the year he was killed.
Enter the new coordinates in your GPS for your next stop. From the marker your distance to cache number two should be 2.10 miles by road, and 1.50 miles by air.
Remember, you DO NOT cross or trespass on any private property.
Bring a magnet to trade, and make sure to replace the cache like you found it.
The parking area has a great picnic area, and hunting and fishing access. Bring a camera, the fall scenery is excellent.
