This cache is placed in memory of the old Tal y Bont that I remember from holidaying in the village as a child. Gone are the days when Tal y Bont had it's very own bakery and the smell of fresh bread wafted around the village. It's hard to believe that the door was always open and along with fresh bread and delicious currant loaves an honesty box sat on the side for customers to serve themselves whilst the baker made his local deliveries. Gone also, the little post office/store and the lovely craft centre that resided above the stalwart Ysgethin.
Tide and times have changed dramatically since my first visit in the late 1960's along with my parents but now along with our grandaughter (a 4th generation Bont-er) we still enjoy the delights of this lovely area.
