Opevnený orech
Div sa svete, nikto by to nečakal. Hlavne nie v Bratislave, no neďaleko jazera, uprostred veľkomesta, medzi obytnými bytovkami, kancelárskymi budovami, skladmi, obchodmi, reštauráciami a štadiónmi; medzi širokými autostrádami a železničnými koľajami... tak tam žije jeden nečakaný kráľ:
Ako to už pri kráľoch býva, aj on žije v zámku. Alebo, v tomto prípade, v hrade. A presnejšie už skoro v zrúcanine hradu. Niet sa čo diviť, nemá poddaných, čo by sa o opevnenie starali a zveľaďovali ho. A on sám si ho tiež nevie opraviť, je totiž strom. Orech. Strom orecha kráľovského, viac známeho ako vlašského. Rastie si uprostred starého opevnenia na malom vŕšku a z neho dozerá na blízke okolie - svoje kráľovstvo.
Tak, ako mnohé kráľovstvá v minulosti, aj toto sa stalo terčom invázie. No nebolo napadnuté a vyrabované. Jedného dňa sa jednoducho v korune stromu objavil iný, cudzí orech. Invazívny druh? Nezastavilo ho opevnenie, ktoré inak strom spoľahlivo chráni pred ľuďmi. Dokonca sa šepká, že práve slabiny v opevnení spôsobili, že sa tomuto cudziemu orechu do koruny podarilo dostať. Vyhliadol si vraj štyri miesta, kde boli hradby najslabšie, dva krát zaútočil z juhu, dva krát z východu (hľa ako na mape tuto nižšie), hradby prekonal a tak sa dostal až do najvyšších miest koruny stromu.
Miestne veverice hovoria, že v korune stromu sa následne objavil geonut. Veľký tvrdý orech, farbou splývajúci s listami a kôrou. Tento druh zvykne byť pre strom samotný takmer neškodný - neubližuje mu a iba občas ho chodia navštevovať rôzne nenápadne sa tváriace indivíduá. Zistíš, či je to teda naozaj tak? Je to geonut, alebo nejaký iný invazívny druh orecha? A podarí sa ti ho rozlúsknuť? Možno na to budeš musieť pohľadať a využiť práve tie slabiny v hradbách, ktorými sa už raz do koruny stromu dostal...

Fortified walnut
Alas, no one would expect it. Mainly not in Bratislava, but near the lake, in the middle of the big city, between residential flats, office buildings, warehouses, shops, restaurants and stadiums; between the wide motorways and the railway tracks ... so there lives an unexpected king. As is the case with kings, he lives in a castle as well. Or, in this case, in a fortress. And more precisely almost in the ruins of the fortress. No wonder. He has no subjects to take care of the fortifications. And he himself can't fix it, because he is a tree. A nut tree. Royal nut tree, better known as walnut. It grows in the middle of the old fortification on a small hill and from it it supervises the nearby surroundings - his kingdom.
Like many kingdoms in the past, this on has also been a target of invasion. Well, it was not attacked and looted. One day, a different, foreign nut simply appeared in the treetop. An invasive species? It was not stopped by the fortifications, which otherwise reliably protect the tree from people. It is rumored that it was the weaknesses in the fortifications that caused this foreign nut to get into the tree crown. The intruder allegedly found four places where the walls were weakest, attacked twice from the south, twice from the east (as seen on the map above), overcame the walls and thus reached the highest points of the treetop. Local squirrels say that a geonut appeared in the crown of the tree. Large hard nut, blending in color with leaves and bark. These species tend to be almost harmless to the tree itself. They do not damage it. Occasionally they are visited by inconspicuous-looking individuals. Do you know if this is really the case? Is it a "geonut" or some other invasive nut species? And will you be able to crack it? You may have to find and use just those weaknesses in the walls...
