Geocache Description:

The Air Disaster Tour pays tribute to the 3 men who lost their lives when their C-130 Hercules Bomber crashed in Southern NSW on Jan 21 st , 2020 whilst fighting the out of control bushfires at the time.

The Tour commences at Jerangle and ventures for 39 km's to Numeralla .Along the way , you will visit Peak View , the village that made headlines , the day the terrible accident occurred.

Its also a 15 cache stunning history tour of the region . Along the way you will visit 3 historic churches, an environment tree, two regular cemeteries and two pioneer cemeteries, a lone  pioneer grave site, a eerie haunted former hotel, a pioneer wagon, an historic school, a giant white cross , former goldfield areas, a picture stop view of the snow capped Mt Kosciuszko and many stops at the actual Air Disaster region.

All caches are mostly medium and there are some small and each feature a full log book, a pencil, a minimun half dozen swaps, collectables and an array of FTF torches with batteries in certain caches.

You will also see many great panoramic views, cross plenty of fast flowing river streams, witness plenty of birdlife and wildlife at all times of day.You will also pass the Possumwood Wildlife Sanctuary housing lizards, koalas, possums and sugar gliders.

There is no reception at Jerangle and nothing till Numeralla. There is no petrol available or food anywhere, so please bring provisions.

Very few people will be seen along the 15 cache tour.Best way to start is to venture to Bredbo and turn off to Jerangle here. Bredbo is your last chance for food as there is nothing after that. You can complete the tour in a standard sedan but best in a 4WD of some type.Best to find the caches in number order.

Place this historic cache tour high on your list to complete in the near future. Good luck and take your camera ! Pictures are welcome in your found log of any location but not the actual hide spot .
