The is the first of what I hope will be a series of caches designed for newcomers to geocaching.
The Light Pole Cache, or LPC, is usually one of the easiest kinds of caches for a beginner to find. Many light poles in and around parking areas have a moveable cover or skirt that covers the bolts holding the light pole to a concrete base. These skirts can often be lifted, and a small cache can be hidden underneath. Most LPCs are microcaches because of the limited space, but are occasionally larger.
A 1/1 rating means it has a difficulty of 1, and a terrain of 1. A 1/1 cache is the easiest to find.
The difficulty rating refers to the effort needed to solve and find the cache and logbook. A 1-star difficulty rating means it should be easy to find or solve within a few minutes.
The terrain rating refers to the physical effort needed to arrive at coordinates and sign the logbook. A 1-star difficulty rating means that it should be a hike of less than 0.5 mile (0.8 km) and wheelchair accessible, most likely paved and flat. A disabled person should be able to retreive the cache while seated in their wheelchair.
