Geocache Description:

This geocache contains a SWAG (stuff we all get).  The theme for this SWAG is STATIONARY- unique erasers, special pens & pencils, etc. Please stick with the theme when swapping this SWAG and remember the etiquette around geocaching SWAG is simple- if you take something, leave something behind of equal or greater value.

John Blechynden was one of the first settlers to the Bridgetown area in 1857. Twenty one year old John came from Beverley in the east, and took up 40,000 acres.  The township of Bridgetown was built on land then owned by John Blechynden and gazetted in 1868, it is the oldest town in the South-West.  John Blechynden built a small one roomed brick cottage for his wife and child to live until he completed the family home “Bridgedale” in 1862. Both buildings still stand and are under the National Trust.  The next generations of Blechynden family still live in Bridgetown.
