This cache was originally placed by csolsen as Mission Creek Bike Path #1. The cache container was lost, though the camouflage was still there. It was archived by a reviewer almost a year ago. I retrieved the camouflage and replaced the container with a log.
Mission Creek flows from Mount Allison and the surrounding hills, through this part of Fremont, before emptying into Lake Elizabeth. Neglected for many years, this 1/2 mile section of it was restored back around 2003. Dr Joyce Blueford and the Math Science Nucleus were central to the effort, as were a group of volunteers. Today, it is enjoyed by residents strolling, jogging, or cycling along the paved path. A series of signs tell about the ecology and history of the area. You can also find out more from the MSN website.
The path is quite a bit busier since COVID. It would also be a good idea to avoid when students are going to or leaving school, as traffic could get really bad - assuming school restarts in autumn. It might be challenging for a child to reach but most adults shouldn't have trouble with it.
