A serene grove of redwoods awaits the willing.
This stand of 2nd growth California natives is at the headwaters of Redwood Creek. Exploring an open and aged forest like this always seems to offer a sense of calm. It's easy to forget that you are still in Oakland.
The entrance to this cathedral of Sequoia sempervirens is on the south-east, so please be sure not to cut down early on your way to GZ.
Note: The canyon setting combined with the tall stand of trees will challenge your GPS. Come prepared to explore the redwood grove.
Cheers Bay Area!
