UPDATE: July 19, 2021... There may be 2 caches at some of the cache sites… due to continuing rising water levels, some may be 5-7 feet lower & underwater… However, when water returns to more normal level, some caches may be rather high… If you find 2 at different levels, please do not remove one, but sign whichever one is easier for you… Please do not add a replacement, as all found or replaced when reservoir level at 1335.. Original 1-10 put out when reservoir level at 1328, but back out with water level at 1331 and moved all up & added 5 more… but little did I realize how high the reservoir level would rise… So said, this water trail will be quite challenging, but hopefully, the difficulty ratings will reflect this… Enjoy & stay safe… PS: all have write-in-rain logs..
When my son & I were kayaking up in this area, knew would be a great area for a water trail... So many neat areas to get into and the wildlife a bonuse... These caches are along the Allegheny River which is part of the Kinzua Reservoir... Then you will head into the headwaters.... which make you feel like in the swamps of Florida.. but no gators here...
All caches are attached, so please use care so as not to damage them... So said, they are not in the water.hopefully... They were all placed from my kayak.. and found myself in some very interesting areas.... If in a canoe disembarking might be needed.... BTW, I did not see any ticks in my adventure, nor did my friend... I am thinking the gyspy moths ate them... did see lots of these...
These caches are all marked as micro, they are small preform or small spice jars... all camoed...
LIFEJACKETS HAVE TO BE WORN... as this area is part of the Kinzua Reservoir, must follow their regulations... and you can be fined if not wearing ...
These caches are placed in the ANF along the Allegheny River and follow the regulations for geocaching in the ANF...
