Sutton Square located in the Historic Commercial District in Downtown Elberton is home to several historic sites.

  1. The Confederate Memorial
    1. “Dutchy” the original soldier on top of the monument can be seen at the Elberton Granite Museum and you can get you another smiley “Elberton Georgia’s Granite Earthcache” GC1GBWM
    2. “Dutchy” was pulled off the top of the monument and buried at it’s base in 1900 and remained there for almost 82 years when he was dug up and moved to the museum
  2. Site of the Elberton’s first Courthouse
  3. The Bicentennial Memorial Fountain
    1. Commemorating the 200th anniversary of American Independence
  4. Elberton’s Bicentennial Time Capsule, buried in celebration of the towns 200thanniversary.

Log only urban hide. BYOP. Difficulty also factors in the often high muggle activity around the square during certain time periods. A TOTT could be helpful.
