Cooper's Cache was our first Geocache and originally published on 16th August 2013. It was archived over the Covid19 Lockdown so we've now reinstated it.
The Cache is at a campsite provided by Southern Norwich District Scouts. It is a place that we like to visit and use as often as we can, for camps and activities.
Cooper's Camp is a three acre greenfield scout campsite on the edge of Norwich provided by Southern Norwich District Scout Council. The site currently has two main camping areas and a larger playing field. These are mingled between the community orchard and natural areas. The site has a river frontage with canoe platform. The river is securely fenced off, making the site safe for campers. Cooper the bat was chosen as the mascot following the 2012 Big Norwich Bat Project. The project discovered that Cooper's Camp is a fantastic habitat for bats, it had one of the highest recorded number of bats in Norwich in that survey. GZ is along a cul-de-sac where residential properties back on-to. Because of this some stealth is required, although you should be able to park very close.
The cache itself is in full view but needs careful manipulation to retrieve and sign, it is quite delicate so please be gentle & take your time. Please replace exactly as found. There is no need to enter the campsite or climb the gate or fence. Beware of anti-climb paint!!! We ask you to make yourself known to anyone who might be using the site, who notice you. Obviously as Young People use the site the adults in charge will be aware of strangers "Hanging Around".
