The Flat Frog Trail is flat and shady and has great views of Middle Ridge. I enjoyed it so much I left a few new caches to encourage future visitors to explore this trail, which is far more enjoyable -- in my opinion -- than returning to HQ via the Hobbs Road route. For a nice loop, take Hobbs Road out to Frog Lake and Flat Frog Trail on the way back. This cache is located in a small open space with a big view of Middle Ridge.
You're looking for a small Snaplock container with no camo. Because of its purpleness, I had to find a good stump to conceal it. Fortunately, this was no trouble at all. I don't know if this stump was a pine at one point, but there's a new tiny pine growing in front of it, so it's certainly possible.
There was no poison oak in the immediate area of the cache at the time of placement. You may encounter the usual hazards of foxtails and ticks. Park hours are 24/7. Happy hunting!
