East Perth is home to the Transwa MerredinLink train service. The service departs from East Perth and Merredin stations three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The MerredinLink service was introduced in June 2004, extending service from Northam to Merredin. In 2013 the Troy Buswell, the then Minister for Transport, announced the MerredinLink service would be scrapped and replaced by buses. After more than 3000 Wheatbelt residents signed a petition to retain the service, the State Government backflipped on its decision and the service continues to operate today.
The MerredinLink is a WDA/WDB/WDC train built by United Goninan in Broadway, NSW. The first of the seven new rail cars entered service on 28 June 2004. The trains can travel at a top speed of 200kmh - however, track conditions and other train movements restrict their speed along the journey.
You are looking for a fake rock style geocache, located in the pleasant Norwood Park. I regularly walk through Norwood Park while on my lunch breaks at work. Please ensure the cache is returned as found. Please bring your own writing implement, as one is not provided!
Good luck and have fun!
