From the time when kids had to walk uphill both way to school. There was dozens of country schools across the county ensuring that no kid had to walk more than 3 miles
The Yuma County School project set out to locate and mark as many of these schools as possible Anyone wanting more information can stop into the Wray Museum
The Bunker Hill area was originally part of Arapohe County before Yuma county was formed in 1889. The Bunker hill district was formed before 1893 and was quite large at the time extending from the state line to Highway 385 before being divided into several smaller districts
The first school was made of sod and may have been located near road 18 & PP
On April 15th 1951 District 102, Bunker Hill voted to consolidate with districts 44, 45, 77, & 80 to form the Armel Consolidated District
