Here you can see the grave of Gourits... a dog loved by all and a true canine celebrity.
Gourits was a dog of all traits and a friend of the town who used to walk with hikers on the beach and run around the whole town playing with residents and earning his treats. This mascot of Gouritsmond was cleverly named after the town itself.
While placing the cache we met a lovely local who introduced herself as Sofie. She told us that she and Gourits were best friends and that he would follow her on her fishing trips making her well know as the best fisherwoman in town. She, just as all other residents, took well care of Gourits and loved him very much.
Gourits to this day is still very much missed by those who knew him and his legacy of joy and comfort will live on forever. So take some time, read the contents of his grave and help us keep the legacy of Gourits alive.
The cache has significance as well as this animal can be seen quite often at night in the Gouritsmond area guarding Gourits' grave, SO LOOK OUT for them.
