Lalu in Khmer language means “penetrated” or "pierced". The place possesses beauty and uniqueness as if from a different planet.
ละลูในภาษาเขมร แปลว่า เจาะ หรือ เจาะ สถานที่แห่งนี้มีความงามและเอกลักษณ์ราวกับมาจากดาวดวงอื่น
It is a natural phenomenon caused by the erosion from the rainwater so that parts of the soil from different materials collapse at different rates. Further erosion is due to the wind (for more on erosion see National Geographic encyclopedia). The results of erosion in Lalu are fascinating shapes similar to city walls, cliffs, and pillars.

Lalu covers an area of more than 3 sq. km and it is a canyon.

One can rent a farm tractor from friendly villagers and drive through the area (see Places in Thailand). Otherwise it is open for walk from the posted parking place in the south. There may be access from the north and southeast but it was not indicated by signs and we did not try it. We have also seen local people driving motorbikes through the area but we are not sure whether it is allowed for non-locals. We also do not know whether bikes are allowed in the area, we assume they are.

a. When you gently tap the sand formation, does it fall apart or does it remain firm?
b. At the stage, does the infotable say "rendering them distinctive shapes" or "rendering them distinct shapes"?
2. Add to your log a picture of yourself or your personal item (TB) at the original coordinates.
You may then log. If there is a problem we will let you know as soon as possible.
