Welcome to the Manjimup Heritage Park or as its more commonly called the Timber Park. This park is one of Manjimup's signature attractions and sets the town apart from the surrounding area.
This Geocache is not located at the posted coordinates. This multi cache is located at the Manjimup Heritage Park and takes you on a walk through history around the park to find the infomation required for the final position of the cache.
The coordinates you need to find the cache are S 34 14.ABC E 116 08.DEF.
To find A you will need to travel to the second stage which takes you to a Gazebo where there is infomation about the Beginnings of WA as a colony and why the timber industry helped WA grow as a colony and eventually becoming part of the federation of Australian Colonys. A is the third digit of the year the railway was extended from Bridgetown to Manjimup and eventually Jardee plus 1.
To find B you will need to travel to the third stage which is located just outside the steam museum with no need to go inside the museum due to previous issues with the availablity. B is how many N's are on the sign at the coordinates.
To find C you will need to travel to fourth stage. This takes you to a replica of the saw pits that were often used to process some of the logs into smaller pieces before transport. There are still some of these located in various places across the forests surrouding Manjimup and Pemberton. C is how many teeth on the saw are above the log at the coordinates.
To find D you will need to travel to the fifth stage which takes you to a replica of the lookout towers that were used to keep watch for bushfires along with a plaque containing infomation about the tower. D is the third digit of the year the replica tower was built.
Lastly to find E and F you will need to travel the the sixth stage which takes you to a blacksmith workshop where you will find infomation about blacksmiths in Manjimup and their equipment. E is fourth digit of the year the first blacksmith set up a forge in Manjimup multiplyed by 4. F is the number that the tongs are assigned on the infomation board in the workshop.
Be sure to bring a pen for the cache as there is not one provided.
